Lakes in a Day Ultra (Outdoor Fitness)
I absolutely love the Lake District. It is a veritable playground for an adventure athlete like me. I’ve run mountains marathons around it, attempted the Bob Graham Round and even completed the odd adventure race. But the Lakes in a Day was something new. It was a chance to do a full traverse of the Lake District, from North to South – 50 miles of it with 4000m of elevation.
So, I had no option but to sign up. I’d get a taste for both worlds – fell running and trail running – as it captures both in equal measure. I wrote about the event for Outdoor Fitness Magazine.
