Snowdonia Marathon – the best marathon in the UK?
I’ve been wanting to run the Snowdonia Marathon since I first became interested in running. The idea of running around Mount Snowdon sounds epic – and I like the fact that it’s tough. If it was easy, everyone would do it.
So when I crossed the finish line in 3hrs10:04 and in 42nd position in the 31st edition of this fine race – I was thrilled. I might well have been almost 20 minutes slower than my London Marathon effort this year. And I might not have finished in the Top 10 (that would have been nice). But, I managed to enjoy myself, meet some lovely people along the way, and become forevermore a fan of what I consider to be perhaps the best marathon in the UK.
I enjoyed it so much, that I wrote an article about it in my Telegraph Men column which you can read here.
Entries for the event open on January 1st 2014. They fill up very quickly, so don’t hesitate with this race. It’s brilliant!
